Windows of Beauty and MYHSM Linky Party

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday linky party!  Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one).

My point with each Monday post is, what are YOU doing or going to do today to make your home sing?  It can be an attitude or an action. So have fun, do some blog hopping, and link up!  Thanks!

Topics can include marriage, parenting, encouraging women, organization, cleaning, saving money, our behavior and attitudes, homemaking, homeschooling, recipes.....the opportunities are endless.

Note: We had 107 linkups last week!  You guys are awesomely amazing and amazingly awesome!  Don't forget to visit one another and try to leave a comment on at least one blog to encourage someone today!  :)

On the left sidebar (down towards the bottom) is the "Making Your Home Sing! Monday" button which I'd love for you to grab and paste into your post!  It is a "no-follow" button.

My mom has a beautiful view from her hospital room.  I like to point out the view to her, because I think that sometimes she can get caught up in all the machines and tubes and stuff.

She's sick, she's tired, and it's easy to see what's right in front of you and think that THAT is all there is.  The pain, the medicine, the machines.

But right outside her window is that beautiful view.  Now granted, there are roads and buildings and cars, of course.

But there's also a huge amount of trees and there's that glorious sky and its ever-changing colors.

Not only do I point out the view for her but I like to see it too.

I need to remind us both of the beauty that is going on outside that hospital room, and the God who created it.

It's easy to forget that there's a WHOLE world out there when your world feels like it stops just at the barrier of the walls of a hospital room.  Because that's all that she can see, unless she looks out the windows and beyond.

What about you?  Where does today find YOU?

No matter what your circumstances are today, don't forget to look beyond them and appreciate the windows of beauty all around you.

They could be actual windows that show forth all the glory of God's glorious creation.

Or windows that reflect the grace of someone who is kind to you, the strength of someone's love, the trust that you have built with someone you care about, or the precious hugs of a child.

They could be windows that show you humor, and loyalty, and fun, and laughter.

Windows of joy that fill you, windows of faith that strengthen you, and windows of hope that renew you and carry you through.

If you find yourself focusing on the pain or the weariness or the difficulty in your life today, just don't forget to look for those windows of beauty that are there just beyond your gaze.

They are there.  All you have to do is lift your eyes and look for them.

So LOOK for them and make your home sing this week.

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today!

  1. Thank you for hosting! I am so sorry your mom is in the hospital. It is hard to see what is outside a hospital room. Prayers for you.

  2. What a beautiful and inspiring reminder to all of us, Nan. I do hope your precious mama is enjoying the family that is all around her even if she cannot venture past that window with a view. My prayers are with you, her and your entire family at this time! Thanks for the linkup too, my friend!
