I was falling asleep on the couch (which is NOT unusual lately) and then I remembered it was Saturday and I needed to get this linky party up.

I spent a lot of time Friday helping someone with something and then I spent Saturday afternoon and evening with my mom, so it sort of feels like I've lost a couple of days because I am out of my regular routine, lol!

If I had time (and could stay awake) I'm pretty sure I could do a whole blog post on regular routines.  I LIKE 'em!  ;)

This is a holiday week so I'm not even going to try and write any blog posts this week, and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

Shopping and Making Your Home Sing Monday Linky Party

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday linky party!  Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one).

My point with each Monday post is, what are YOU doing or going to do today to make your home sing?  It can be an attitude or an action. So have fun, do some blog hopping, and link up!  Thanks!

Topics can include marriage, parenting, encouraging women, organization, cleaning, saving money, our behavior and attitudes, homemaking, homeschooling, recipes.....the opportunities are endless.

Note: We had 115 linkups last week!  You guys are awesomely amazing and amazingly awesome!  Don't forget to visit one another and try to leave a comment on at least one blog to encourage someone today!  :)

On the left sidebar (down towards the bottom) is the "Making Your Home Sing! Monday" button which I'd love for you to grab and paste into your post!  It is a "no-follow" button.

I had all sorts of plans to work on a blog post for this linky party, then I had to leave my house for most of yesterday and today (which will be yesterday by the time you read this).

We had pipes replaced on the inside of the house and I can't stay here when wood, sheetrock or spray spackling is flying around.  It affects my asthma in a negative way.

So the down side is that I was away from home a lot.  The up side is that I was away from home a lot.

I got to go out to lunch (without feeling guilty about it)  and go shopping for several hours.

As a rule, I really hate shopping.  I do have my moments where I love shopping for certain things. But, generally I am not one of those gals who can go to the mall and shop and shop for hours and just LOVE it.  Nope.

Shopping gives me a headache.

Even as a teen I hated to go to the mall.   Pretty sure my mom was thrilled about that.

Generally, I prefer to go to the store, find what I need, and get out.  I don't like trying on clothes either.

What I really need is someone who looks just like me who will try on clothes for me.  I need a twin.  And not just any twin.  A twin who loves to go shopping. Then SHE could try on all the clothes and I could see if I'd look good in them!

Let's just say that "let's go shopping" is not something you hear me say very often.

As you can imagine, I am VERY popular with all my friends and someone they gladly call whenever they want to go shopping.

Or not.

I also am pretty frugal and so I don't really like spending money.  MY money anyway.  I'll happily spend yours for you.  Just sayin.

But I digress.  So anyway, I killed time eating and shopping and occasionally gave dirty looks to people who drove like they own the road, which is basically what I do every day (minus the shopping).

So what did YOU do this weekend?

The Day The Snowman Died & Other Unrelated Stuff

So last week I told y'all to come back and visit me to see what I was up to this week....and then I didn't post anything!

That's kind of like someone inviting over for the evening and then you show up only to find they aren't at home.

But it is STILL this week so I guess it's o.k.......right?

Sometimes I think I need to have some little kids puking and pooping on me so that I can have some interesting posts for my blog, ya know?

However, my kids are grown and I'm pretty sure I would NOT be amused if they did either of those things on me.

So, puking and pooping aside, here's a few random things for you this week:

1.  I broke one of my favorite snowmen.  And here's the thing, I have NO idea how I broke it.  I really don't.  So I'm thinking the little guy just decided to go bungee jumping off the table.....without a bungee.

2.  Apparently I have NO idea how to spell bungee as the spell-check told me it was wrong so I had to look it up.  Somebody at some point had to make up the word "bungee" so it just seems fair that I can make up my own spelling of it.

3.  I was heartbroken.  Sort of.  (About the snowman breaking, not about misspelling the word "bungee.")  I went to the thrift store and there on the table was another snowman just like it.  It was almost creepy in a way.  Then I brought that one home and THAT one broke too!  O.k., not really, but it wanted to.  Also, I apologize for showing you the snowman's innards......it's slightly immodest and might even be considered rude.  In my defense, he didn't seem to mind.

4.  I will never go bungee jumping.  Ever.  Everrrrrr.    E.V.E.R.

5.  I gave my poodle a hair cut this week.  I really do not like cutting her hair and I'm pretty sure SHE feels the same way.  When I break out the cutters she runs and hides.  I'm trying not to take it too personally.

6.  I like even numbers.

7.  So, back to my poodle.  I cut her hair and then afterward I was combing it, and I accidentally pulled it with the comb.  She lets out a yelp and I looked at her and said "Well, sorry, but YOU'RE the one who wanted long hair."  She was not amused.

8.  I STILL like even numbers.

9.  I wanted long hair my entire childhood but my mom wouldn't let me grow it long. I had to wear it really short in a "pixie" cut.  I imagine the fact that I cried and screamed whenever I had to wash my hair or comb it had absolutely NOTHING to do with her decision.

10.  Did I mention how much I like even numbers?

A Day In The Life (Of A Pastor's Wife) #12 & MYHSM Linky Party

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday linky party!  Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one).

My point with each Monday post is, what are YOU doing or going to do today to make your home sing?  It can be an attitude or an action. So have fun, do some blog hopping, and link up!  Thanks!

Topics can include marriage, parenting, encouraging women, organization, cleaning, saving money, our behavior and attitudes, homemaking, homeschooling, recipes.....the opportunities are endless.

Note: We had 104 linkups last week!

I have struggled with finding time or making time to write on this blog.  So recently I thought that I might just sometimes write about what is going on in my day or that week.   Make it more personal and/or lighthearted in a way and also make it easier on me.

However, I didn't have anything prepared for today, so here are some of my thoughts or things that I posted on my personal facebook page this past week:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(I had watched a video of someone using a lighter to "cut" someone's hair) and so I said to my hubby:
"I'm doing this the next time I cut your hair......we can film it and then have it to show to the fire department and the medics when they come and ask what happened."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Somebody should buy me a puppy. Or a mini horse. Or maybe a pickle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was hanging up a Christmas garland and went to the laundry room to get a clothespin (to secure it to the metal structure, hidden behind leaves but secure).
As I went to get the clothes pin I decided to throw in a load of towels, so I tossed them in the laundry. Then I ran upstairs to the kitchen to get some vinegar to add to the laundry.
Once in the kitchen I noticed my laptop sitting there and sat down to look at facebook for a bit.
Then I remembered the clothes pin and went back downstairs to get it.   My hubby stopped me with a question about something unrelated. After answering his question, my eyes lighted on a box of Christmas decorations.
I carried the box upstairs and the next thing I knew I was setting out Christmas decorations, changing out table covers for more Christmassy ones, and asking my husband when he was making popcorn.
Now here I am back on facebook and I realize that I STILL haven't got that clothes pin that started it all. I blame YOU people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am so tempted to put a fake tree in the bathtub just to surprise people when they visit........except that I'd never be in there with them when they saw it so it sort of defeats all the fun. But still......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Listening to a four pound poodle growl is about as scary as being dive-bombed by a butterfly.  You just can't take it seriously.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 My dishwashing gloves betrayed me tonight. When we got together they promised to honor my desire for cleanliness, obey, and keep my hands dry. You had ONE job, gloves.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So basically, the above was my life this week.  I hope you'll stop by later in the week to see what else I'm up to!  ;)    How was  YOUR week?
