A Day In The Life (Of A Pastor's Wife) #12 & MYHSM Linky Party

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday linky party!  Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one).

My point with each Monday post is, what are YOU doing or going to do today to make your home sing?  It can be an attitude or an action. So have fun, do some blog hopping, and link up!  Thanks!

Topics can include marriage, parenting, encouraging women, organization, cleaning, saving money, our behavior and attitudes, homemaking, homeschooling, recipes.....the opportunities are endless.

Note: We had 104 linkups last week!  You guys are awesomely amazing and amazingly awesome!  Don't forget to visit one another and try to leave a comment on at least one blog to encourage someone today!  :)

On the left sidebar (down towards the bottom) is the "Making Your Home Sing! Monday" button which I'd love for you to grab and paste into your post!  It is a "no-follow" button.

I have struggled with finding time or making time to write on this blog.  So recently I thought that I might just sometimes write about what is going on in my day or that week.   Make it more personal and/or lighthearted in a way and also make it easier on me.

However, I didn't have anything prepared for today, so here are some of my thoughts or things that I posted on my personal facebook page this past week:

(I had watched a video of someone using a lighter to "cut" someone's hair) and so I said to my hubby:

"I'm doing this the next time I cut your hair......we can film it and then have it to show to the fire department and the medics when they come and ask what happened."

Somebody should buy me a puppy. Or a mini horse. Or maybe a pickle.

I was hanging up a Christmas garland and went to the laundry room to get a clothespin (to secure it to the metal structure, hidden behind leaves but secure).

As I went to get the clothes pin I decided to throw in a load of towels, so I tossed them in the laundry. Then I ran upstairs to the kitchen to get some vinegar to add to the laundry.

Once in the kitchen I noticed my laptop sitting there and sat down to look at facebook for a bit.

Then I remembered the clothes pin and went back downstairs to get it.   My hubby stopped me with a question about something unrelated. After answering his question, my eyes lighted on a box of Christmas decorations.

I carried the box upstairs and the next thing I knew I was setting out Christmas decorations, changing out table covers for more Christmassy ones, and asking my husband when he was making popcorn.

Now here I am back on facebook and I realize that I STILL haven't got that clothes pin that started it all. I blame YOU people.

I am so tempted to put a fake tree in the bathtub just to surprise people when they visit........except that I'd never be in there with them when they saw it so it sort of defeats all the fun. But still......

Listening to a four pound poodle growl is about as scary as being dive-bombed by a butterfly.  You just can't take it seriously.

My dishwashing gloves betrayed me tonight. When we got together they promised to honor my desire for cleanliness, obey, and keep my hands dry. You had ONE job, gloves.

So basically, the above was my life this week.  I hope you'll stop by later in the week to see what else I'm up to!  ;)    How was  YOUR week?

  1. Thanks so much for hosting! I loved the clothespin story! That is me. I start something, but I forget what I went in the room to get! If I sit at the computer... then, it's all over! Thanks for the smiles!

    1. That computer just sucks us in if we're not careful, lol! I do often get sidetracked. If I walk into a room and someone asks me a question then I can't remember why I walked into the room, lol!

  2. Sounds like we could have been doing roughly the same thing last week. Enjoyed having a laugh as I read your post.

  3. Hey, thanks so much for hosting the linkup today.

    1. Thanks for joining us today, my friend!

  4. I love this idea, Nan! I'm not sure we're friends on FB. I'll have to double check on that. And you should spread your humor around to Twitter. If you can shorten some of these witty posts, I'm sure you'll be a hit on Twitter, my friend! Thanks for hosting us today!

    1. Beth, yes, we're friends on facebook, lol! You just don't seem to be on it very much. ;) I have to admit I rarely tweet but I suppose it would be easy if it was just a few sentences.

  5. Nan...Thank you for the smile today. You brighten my day every time I visit here. Last week was busy but this week may be quieter...hmmm...I better not say that too loud, huh? Thank you for the link up dear friend. May you have a wonderful week.

  6. Nan - Thanks for keeping it real and for hostessing!
Today I've shared Pt. 3 in my series on "What is Natural Health?" titled "How Does the Body Work?".
    God bless your week!
