I Don't Have Zumba Hips

Ever so often you learn something new about yourself and it takes your breath away. Tonight I learned a sad truth about myself. I don't have Zumba hips.

Zumba seems to be all the craze around here. I have several friends who absolutely love it and periodically post about it on facebook.

At first I thought it was some strange disease "I'm so sore from Zumba," or maybe even a foreign city "I went to Zumba last night" or maybe some new boyfriend "I LOVE Zumba!!!!!"

So I asked a friend and she told me what it was and I checked it out on google and youtube. Because if it's not there it's not anywhere. Right?

I even tried it. That's when I discovered the truth about myself.

I don't have Zumba hips. Really, I don't.

They break it down into little steps and they make it look so easy. But then they want me to wiggle my hips. But I can't do it. My hips don't lie.

Oh, I do manage to do a little wiggling, but instead of looking gorgeous like they do, I look like I'm being attacked by an army of marauding ants. That are crawling all over my body. And biting me.

Either that or I look like I'm giving birth to jello. You know, the kind that wiggles?

I don't care though, because I had a blast. So I've told my husband to buy it for me or else mentioned the dvd set to my sweet hubby, and I'd better be getting it for my birthday I'm hoping that I'll get it for my birthday. Or maybe Mother's Day.

Or maybe I'll just buy it for "him" for Father's Day, because I'm just really generous that way. Maybe I'll buy him some cute yoga pants and a cute little top too.......

Making Your Home Sing Monday

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday meme! Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one). My point with each Monday post is, what are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing?

It can be an attitude or an action. Motivation, our attitude, baking, encouraging our husband or children (if we have either one), organization, cleaning, saving money....the opportunities are endless.

Last week I mentioned I had a busy week coming up. Well, I think I managed my time as well as could be expected, I guess, but that means I did not get on here to read all your link up posts last week. I'm so sorry about that, but appreciate you linking up anyway!

I like to see what you're all up to and it's great to get new ideas. That's what makes it all fun.

This week I'm still hoping to be more diligent and manage my time better, I could always do with a bit more time management. My family's schedule is crazy this week, so I need to be flexible and meet needs where I can, and come up with a dinner plan that works with everyone's crazy schedule. Next week will be better........I hope, lol!

So what are you up to this week? What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! Please do not put your own "Making Your Home Sing Monday" Linky on your blog. As always, please don't forget to link to this post. Also, please don't forgot to leave me a comment!

Well, I'm finally getting this meme up! Go me. However, once again I don't have a post. Boo me! I have family in town and we've been busy helping a family member move some stuff out of storage and numerous trips to the storage unit and some to the thrift store and.....well, no post.

I have a busy week coming up (don't we all????) and the best way that I can make my home sing is to manage my time well! So I think I'll make my to-do list and try to remember to look at it!

Does The Spider Know That?

My son: "Don't panic."
Me: "Why?"
My son: "There's a spider by your leg."
Me: "Arghhhhhhhhhh!"

There are certain things you don't want to hear while you're driving your car. "Mom, I just threw up" is one. "Is that policeman flashing his lights at us?" is another. "There's a spider by your leg" is yet another.

Did I mention I was driving my car at the time? So I tried to stand up while driving the car and it goes all over the road because I have one eye on the road and the other eye on the spider. Do you know how hard it is to drive a car while standing up? It's not easy.

Then, I lost the spider. There's nothing creepier than losing a spider and wondering where it's going to show up next. So now I'm being stalked by a creepy spider who's mad at me because I tried to attack it with a napkin. While driving a 4,000+ pound vehicle. Because I'm a mom and I believe in multi-tasking.

No one wants to be trapped in a car with a creepy little spider with bonding issues. I tried telling the spider "It's not you, it's me" and let it down easy, but it was just too persistent and at some point, the napkin got involved.

My husband was driving behind me and followed me as I turned a corner and pulled off the road as quick as I could. He watched me leap out of the car and do a little dance, shaking a napkin. On the side of the road. In front of God and everybody.

Husband: "You got a spider in there?"
Me: "Yesssssss!"
Hubby: "I thought so, you were veering all over the road."
Me: "We're switching cars, I'm not driving my car with a spider in there."

My son tried to tell me "You got it, mom. You got it." But I didn't see any spider parts on that napkin, people.

Hubby sighed, but he knew better than to argue with a hysterical woman with a napkin in her hand who's not afraid to use it. However, after we got home he couldn't resist saying,

Hubby: "You are bigger than the spider. It can't bite you."
Me: "Does the spider know that????????"

Why does the weekend disappear so fast? Hmmmmmm? Sometimes it seems like Friday, Saturday and Sunday go by faster than Monday does. Don't know how that's possible but the weekend just flies by.

Yet another Monday is minutes away and all of a sudden I realize I have a meme to do. Who knew? Well, I knew, but was totally enjoying my family, friends, and the weekend and totally forgot about everything. Until now.

Sorry I didn't get this up earlier and thanks for linking up!
