I love weekends. Don't you? For some reason I always am optimistic whenever a Saturday rolls around. I know that this Saturday will be different. This Saturday I will manage to accomplish everything on my to-do list. I will manage to clean my entire house, top to bottom. Every cupboard, every drawer, every closet.

I just know that this Saturday will be the day. The day that I get everything done that I put off until Saturday. Does anybody else do that?

You know, you think during the week "I can't get it done today so I'll put it off until Saturday." Then Saturday rolls around and you have 5,000 items on your to-do list.

Somehow I always have great confidence in Saturday. Saturday will not let me down. I know that somehow I will manage to squeeze in the 5,000 things that I put off during the week. Even though Saturday only has 24 hours available (some of which, admittedly I need to use for eating and sleeping), I blindly ignore the fact there there is a time constraint....confident that it will all get done.

Until I run out of time and there are still things to be done. But I don't worry. I can always put them off until next Saturday.

  1. I wish I could get everything done on a Saturday! I'm up way too late as it is right now! We had our home fellowship tonight and everyone leaves around midnight! I just got done cleaning up and got my second wind!! Tomorrow morning we're meeting some friends to go roller skating!

  2. I'm the same way. I usually get up early and it's full steam ahead. But by about 4pm my feet hurt and I'm so tired I could drop. I almost always end up with something not quite done.

Recently though, our Saturdays are full and I don't get much done at all. It makes it hard to work full-time (and part-time with freelance) during the week and having to get all the housework done then too. It's times like right now I'm grateful we don't have children yet! I'd be pooped!

  3. Love this! Here in KC we are getting some beautiful snow and I am going to enjoy hanging out with my family! Hope you accomplish everything God has planned for you today!

  4. Yes maam , love saturdays, but Not for cleaning!lol! I like to take care of IT all during week , to leave Saturdays for F-u-n~ My kids do the chores (insert evil laugh)!

  5. Yep, I had high hopes for this Saturday to get so much done too, but where am I? On the computer. LOL
I will get it done...I promise. Give me a list and I will start checking it off.
Motivation is the key, now I just have to find some.
    Great post.

  6. Oh yes! I know exactly what you mean. today is no exception. I sat down and made a list of about 27 items not including meal prep and basic everyday things. Why do we do this to ourselves?

I've done a bit of it but I know I won't be able to do everything. This battle with procrastination has to end.

Have a great weekend my sister.

  7. Saturdays are slow start day for me and the girl. The boys head out to Stage Combat class for Valiant and we girls putter...let me put it this is 11:19 a.m. and I'm cooking breakfast/lunch for when the boys get home...that is how Saturday goes, but, by 5:00 p.m. we've got a plan for Game Night and the house is clean (enough) and the fun begins...Nothing too is the weekend, after all!

  8. I do the same all goes back to my problems with procrastination. Why do today, what I can put off until Saturday? Right?

  9. Monday would be my day!! New week, new start..yes's all gonna be great cause it's a new week...mmmhmmm..... :o)

  10. Awwww...the get it done Saturday list! For me...yeah, right! I never get it done but oh, well...there is always next week.

I try really hard to get most of my stuff done during the week so I don't have to do it on the weekends.

Today, my primary goal was to get my Pay It Forward gifts started, which I did. We went to my mom's to use my daddy's woodworking shop. We got there and got them done...then, it started snowing like crazy!

Two days ago, I could have been wearing shorts and today...we are expected to get 6 inches. Only in Arkansas!

Hope you get your list finished or close to it.

  11. Well, I didn't get much accomplished today except rest, which is exactly what was on my to do list :o) Oh and we watched a movie & played a couple of games of Triominoes. All in all I'd say it was a good day! I hope yours was too my friend!

  12. Saturday comes and goes too quickly around here. We always have a long to-do list but never seem to be able to get it all done. My husband has a long list of projects he's always working on...God bless him!
